Description
HEMA is a chemical commonly used in nail products, such as gel polishes, but it can cause allergic reactions or sensitivity in some people. HEMA-free gel polishes are those that do not contain this chemical, offering a gentler solution for those with sensitive skin or who have had allergic reactions to nail polishes containing it.
How to use:
  • Remove any old polish residue with a solvent.
  • File and shape your nails using a file and buffer.
  • Push back your cuticles with a wooden stick or a specific tool.
  • Clean the nail thoroughly with a cleaner or a cotton pad.
  • Apply a thin layer of base coat to the entire nail. Be sure not to touch the cuticles or the sides of the nail to prevent peeling.
  • Cure under UV or LED lamp for the time indicated by the manufacturer (usually 30-60 seconds for LED lamp or 2 minutes for UV lamp).
  • Apply a thin layer of HEMA-free gel polish. Try to apply an even layer.
  • Cure again under the lamp as directed by the manufacturer (90 seconds for LED or 2 minutes for UV). If necessary, apply a second coat of polish for a more intense color and repeat the cure.
  • Apply a thin layer of top coat to seal in the color and add shine.
  • Cure again under the lamp (usually 30-60 seconds for LED or 2 minutes for UV).
HEMA-free gel polishes may take longer to cure than those that contain it. This is because HEMA-free formulas often use alternative curing ingredients. However, if you notice that the drying time is longer than usual, it could also be due to the wattage of your lamp!
